The Cumberland Plateau

T he largest timbered plateau in America, is located in Cumberland County in the heart of the Plateau and sits on approximately 2,000 feet above sea level. Crossville is the county seat and largest urban area which is centrally located in East Tennessee just off Interstate 40, with quick access to Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga.

So attractive is this 679 square mile county that a number of large residential developments have invested heavily here, and it was chosen as the fourth best place to live and retire to in the United States by Rand McNally’s “Places Rated to Retirement Guide”.

One of its attractions is climate, for it’s blessed with long springs and autumns, cool summers, and mild winters.
